2022 is the year of Network Ten premiering new shows and new formats, and so far, we’re loving it. We’ve roamed the streets of Victoria with Hunted Australia, cruised along the Mediterranean with The Real Love Boat, and now, we’re ready to play detective with The Traitors.
Hosted by Rodger Corser, The Traitors is a new competition reality series that takes place in an old hotel, where our Faithful contestants will compete in challenges to win bars of silver.
The twist, because there’s always a twist, is that there are Traitors masquerading as Faithfuls amongst them, trying to pick them off, one by one. If a Traitor makes it to the end, they’ll win the entire prize pool of silver — worth up to $250,000 — for themselves. If a Faithful makes it to the end, they’ll be presented with a choice: either split the prize with their other Faithful, or keep it all for themselves.
One of the Faithfuls hoping to sniff out the Traitors and banish them from the game is Olivia, a 43-year-old forensic investigator from Victoria.

When Olivia’s not working as a forensic investigator — surely a career that will offer a competitive advantage in The Traitors — she can likely be found solving a puzzle or game.
“If there was a board game in front of me and a piece was missing, I would literally turn the house upside down until I found the missing piece,” she said in a press statement.
One thing’s for sure, Olivia is coming into The Traitors determined to take home the win, and she’s ready to play hard, to lie and betray, in order to achieve her goal. Basically? She’s not here to make friends.
While being a forensic investigator means Olivia is a naturally gifted problem solver who can spot a lie from a mile away, she wants people to know that regardless of whatever crime procedurals show us, it’s “nothing like” what she actually does in her role.
“I am the Queen of composure,” she added. “I have to be with my job. This is a game of deceit and a game where you trust no one. I am going in there knowing everyone is going to be lying to me and I’m a good liar so I will fish them out.”
Will Olivia be successful in her quest for the win? Only time will tell. Until then…
The Traitors airs at 7.30pm, Sunday — Tuesdays, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss an episode? Catch up on 10 Play.
