Teresa Knows How to Control a Crowd, But Can She Win ‘The Traitors’?

2022 is the year of Network Ten premiering new shows and new formats, and so far, we’re loving it. We’ve roamed the streets of Victoria with Hunted Australia, cruised along the Mediterranean with The Real Love Boat, and now, we’re ready to play detective with The Traitors.

Hosted by Rodger Corser, The Traitors is a new competition reality series that takes place in an old hotel, where our Faithful contestants will compete in challenges to win bars of silver.

The twist, because there’s always a twist, is that there are Traitors masquerading as Faithfuls amongst them, trying to pick them off, one by one. If a Traitor makes it to the end, they’ll win the entire prize pool of silver — worth up to $250,000 — for themselves. If a Faithful makes it to the end, they’ll be presented with a choice: either split the prize with their other Faithful, or keep it all for themselves.

One of the competitors hoping to make it to the end is Teresa, a 42-year-old sports club president from WA.

Teresa prides herself on being a ‘what you see is what you get’ kinda gal, but she’s aware that can be polarising for some people.

“I’m loud, boisterous, bossy. You’ll either love me or hate me, there’s no in between,” she said in a press statement, adding, “But I think you’ll love me”.

Aside from being president of a sports club, Teresa is an MC who knows how to keep the attention of crowds up to 10,000. When she’s not doing that? Oh, she’s just managing drag shows, running netball clubs, and raising her kids. No biggie, right?!

Now, this busy gal is taking on The Traitors, and she’s ready to prove to herself, and her community, that she’s got what it takes to go all the way and take out the win.

While she doesn’t have a set strategy for how she’s going to approach the game, Teresa says that her adaptability will be a key part of how she plays the game.

“I can walk into a room and will either light it up or stay quiet and watch what’s happening,” she explained. “At the end of the day, people are my superpower and it’s going to help me in this game. I do have a hero complex and love to save the day so I will need to tone that down”.

As for whether she’d be a better Faithful or Traitor, Teresa said that while she’d hope to make a great Traitor, she’d probably be better suited to being a Faithful.

“I’m worried people can just read my face and I’m not a great liar,” she said. “If I’m doing something wrong, I usually talk too much and I feel that might give me away. But there’s money on the table so let’s hope I can hold it together.”

A fierce competitor, Teresa is hoping that her never-give-up attitude, bubbly personality and people skills will take her to the end.

“I don’t think you understand how competitive I am and if I lose this game, I am going to cry,” she said. “I’m going to burn down wherever we are and then I’ll start a Go Fund Me page.”

Will The Traitors end with arson? Only time will tell. Until then…

The Traitors airs at 7.30pm, Sunday — Tuesdays, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
