Farmer Wants a Wife: Is Maddison Maybe the One for Farmer Ben?

Farmer Wants a Wife is in full swing, and sparks are flying all over the place as we get settled in for a season of (hopefully) long-lasting love connections.

This season, we’re following Farmer Ben, 27, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Harry, 24, from Kyabram, VIC, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW, and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.

One of the women trying to woo Farmer Ben is Maddison, a 25-year-old visual merchandiser from NSW.

Maddison applied for Farmer Wants a Wife because, as she said in a press statement, she “would love to fall in love”. Fair enough! As it turns out, though, she may be a little better equipped for country living than some of her Farmer Wants a Wife peers, because she actually grew up on a farm, and “have always loved the country life”.

“For someone [who] has lived in Sydney for majority of my adulthood, I always look back on my childhood and am forever grateful for my life on the farm,” she said.

After her years in Sydney, Maddison is thinking about the next stage of her life, and it might be time to return to country living.

“I hope that I can meet a farmer and bring up my children in a similar way [to my childhood],” she said.

Maddison chose Farmer Ben because she felt “drawn to [him] after watching his video” when applications for this season were open.

“He seems like an easy going, hardworking and attractive country bloke,” she explained, adding: “I loved his view on love and the appreciation he has for his grandparents, parents and daughter. I think we would get along like a house on fire.”

As for love and relationships, Maddison wants “nothing more but to fall in love and find [her] perfect match”.

“Nothing beats the magical feeling of knowing someone is always thinking of you and is your number one supporter,” she said. “I have always cherished the love my grandparents and parents have for each other. I only wish I could experience the same long-lasting love.”

Will sparks fly between Maddison and Farmer Ben? Only time will tell. Until then…

Farmer Wants a Wife airs at 7.00pm on Sundays, and 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, only on 7 and 7 Plus.
