Farmer Wants a Wife: Is Flower Farmer Erin the One for Farmer Benjamin?

Farmer Wants a Wife is in full swing, and sparks are flying all over the place as we get settled in for a season of (hopefully) long-lasting love connections.

This season, we’re following Farmer Ben, 27, from Wingham, NSW, Farmer Harry, 24, from Kyabram, VIC, Farmer Will, 26, from Berriwillock, VIC, Farmer Benjamin, 33, from Guyra, NSW, and Farmer Paige — the show’s first female farmer — who’s 28 and from Cassilis, NSW.

One of the ladies hoping to win over Farmer Benjamin is Erin, a 32-year-old flower farmer from Queensland.

Noting that there is “a supply issue for eligible men in Gympie”, where she currently resides, Erin explained: “Everyone is coupled up and already having kids. I haven’t met an age-appropriate single man in a year.”

A farmer herself, Erin certainly understands what life on a farm entails, which is one of the reasons she applied for the reality competition series.

“No day is the same on a farm and there’s always a lot of work balanced with down time,” Erin said in a press statement. “Sometimes farms can be a little lonely at times, but I’ve lived alone most of my adult life and it’s never bothered me.”

She added: “You have to be very practical and realistic when living on a farm. Farming is a team effort, so I’d envision working with my partner on the daily running of the farm.”

Erin was initially attracted to Farmer Benjamin because he “seems honest, down-to-earth and knows what he wants”, which she notes “is rare”.

“I don’t see myself as your typical farmer and I don’t think Benjamin is either,” she said. “We both seem to be very creative which I find to be a really endearing quality, especially when it’s used to express your feelings and emotions.”

Another huge draw card? Farmer Benjamin’s sense of humour.

“I love laughing and love people with a good and/or wicked sense of humour,” she said. “Benjamin seems like a really good balance of mature and silly, which makes me very pleased.”

When it comes to love and relationships, Erin said that the way to her heart is “to do something unexpected and spontaneous that comes from the heart”.

“My dream date would be to fly by helicopter to a super fancy restaurant, eat good food and drink good wine; because when you live in the country, you don’t get those sorts of opportunities,” she shared.

Will Erin be the woman of Farmer Benjamin’s dreams, or will the spark fizzle out? Only time will tell. Until then…

Farmer Wants a Wife airs at 7.00pm on Sundays, and 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, only on 7 and 7 Plus.
