It’s official, The Real Love Boat has set sail, but whether we’re in for a tale of epic romance, or titanic disaster remains to be seen.
This season, our singles have boarded the Regal Princess (which is over a hundred feet longer than the Mauritania and far more luxurious!) in hopes of finding a love worthy of a Celine Dion power ballad. But, with so many sexy singles in one place, there are bound to be some emotional icebergs, right ahead. (Sorry, we’ll stop with the Titanic references now).
As the ads have been keen to tell us, the concept of The Real Love Boat is essentially that it’s Love Island on a boat. This means they have coupling ceremonies, cute dates, and of course, challenges designed to test our couples’ connections.
Then there are the re-coupling ceremonies, where the couples can either choose to stay together or explore a new romance, perhaps with a new bombshell who’s boarded the boat?
Along the way, they’ll be cruising to picture-perfect European locations across Spain, Greece, France, Italy, Turkey and Montenegro, where we’ll see sparks fly as our lovebirds head out on some very cute dates, like surfing, pottery lessons, romantic countryside drives and old-school winemaking.
Based on the original scripted series from the ’70s, the crew of The Real Love Boat are also there to assist the contenders in their quest for romance.
Hosted by Darren McMullen, The Real Love Boat also features Cruise Director Hannah Ferrier — who Bravo heads will recognise from Below Deck Mediterranean — as well as Head of Entertainment Daniel Doody, and Princess Cruises’ Captain Paolo Arrigo.
The twist — because there’s always a twist! — is that only one couple will make it to the final port.
