Channel 9’s latest reality competition series, The Summit Australia, is here. The 14 contestants will attempt to hike to the top of one of New Zealand‘s highest peaks in just 14 days. If they make it, they’ll win a share in the one million dollar cash prize, but that’s a big “if”. Of course, a new show means that it’s time to put faces to names, so let’s meet The Summit 2023 cast.
The Summit 2023 Cast: Meet Annikki
Annikki is a dancer and teacher from Brisbane, who’s now ready to embark on a new adventure as she heads to New Zealand to take part in The Summit Australia 2023. Born in Darwin, Annikki has always been accustomed to the sun and sea. Now, she’s trading that in for the snow and cold of the mountain.
Annikki is an all-round artist, but her specialty lies in the krump dancing.
A predominantly male-dominated style of dance, Annikki said in a press statement that she believes that the confrontational nature of krump will help her face any challenges that come her way on the mountain.
“If anybody on the mountain tries to psych me out or test me, they’re going to have to go hard because I’m used to that stuff,” she said.

Annikki’s Journey on The Summit 2023
While Annikki’s athleticism makes her confident in her abilities, The Summit will be a new experience for her.
“The highest peak I’ve probably been on would be a ride at Movie World, so that would be the only thing that might scare me,” she said in a press statement.
Annikki’s biggest inspiration to make it to the top is her mother. She hopes that if she wins, some of the money will go to her family.
“It would be life-changing,” Annikki said. “It would help my career and help me give something back to Mum because she’s always worked so hard for me. I can’t even fathom that much money!”
Annikki’s determination and passion for dance make her a strong contender in Summit Australia 2023. We can’t wait to see her take on the challenge and leave her mark on the mountain.
The Summit Australia airs at 7pm on Sunday, and at 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, only on 9 and 9Now. Miss an episode? Catch up on 9Now.
