The Twelve was one of the most unique and gripping Aussie series to grace our screens in 2022, and thankfully, it’s set to return next year with The Twelve Season 2.
Now, if you don’t know what The Twelve’s about, let’s catch you up to speed.
The Twelve follows a group of 12 Aussies who are selected for jury duty in a high profile murder trial. In Season 1, the accused was Kate Lawson (played by Kate Mulvany) a woman charged with murder. Over the course of the season, the details of the trial impact the complex lives of each juror, forcing them to re-evaluate their lives.
Earlier this year, BINGE confirmed that The Twelve would be returning for a second season. Now, we have more details about the cast and filming locations of The Twelve Season 2.
The Twelve Season 2 Cast
BINGE has confirmed that Sam Neill will be reprising his role as Brett Colby, SC for the second season of The Twelve. In Season 1, Brett Colby was the defence lawyer in Kate Lawson’s murder trial. Sam Neill is best known for his work in the Jurassic Park franchise, as well as his time on Peaky Blinders.
Joining Neill on The Twelve Season 2 cast will be Frances O’Connor, who will be playing Meredith Nelson-Moore, SC. Together, the pair will face a new high profile murder case. O’Connor is best known for her work in Steven Spielberg’s AI: Artificial Intelligence, Mansfield Park, and Bedazzled.

The Twelve Season 2 Filming Locations
All of The Twelve’s Season 2 filming locations are in Western Australia. According to Alison Hurbert-Burns, BINGE’s Executive Director, this decision is a slay.
“The cameras are rolling in WA on this multi-award winning BINGE original The Twelve,” Hurbert-Burns said in a press statement. “To have Sam Neill return, and to welcome Frances O’Connor, as part of a large and diverse ensemble cast featuring many local creatives and talent, is exciting.
“We have wanted to produce in WA for a long time, so it’s great to be here creating the next instalment of the award winning The Twelve, with over 150 West Australian cast and crew, and hundreds of extras, helping to make it happen.”
In September, BINGE announced that the second season of the drama series will be Western Australia’s “biggest ever production” to date.
How Many Episodes Will The Twelve Season 2 Have?
The Twelve Season 2 will have eight episodes.
Is Season 2 Based on a True Story?
The Twelve’s first season isn’t based on or inspired by any true events. It is instead based on the Belgian series De Twaalf, which was completely fictional.
Because the first season of The Twelve’s 100% fictional, Season 2 will probably follow in its footsteps.
The Twelve’s Season 2 Release Date
The Twelve’s Season 2 episodes aren’t even in post-production yet. This means it won’t debut until sometime in 2024.
