Has ‘My Kitchen Rules’ Ditched Coles as Its Sponsor?

My pals, the drama of My Kitchen Rules has officially transcended the cooking fiascos. It’s transcended the contestants sledging each other’s feeds. ‘Cause we now have some business drama. My Kitchen Rules has dropped Coles as its sponsor.

That’s right, My Kitchen Rules has dumped Coles. Which is huge, as the relationship between these two organisations has been hot and heavy for over a decade.

Both Channel 7 and Woolworths confirmed the news to Mediaweek after the My Kitchen Rules premiere on September 4.

In a statement for Woolworths, a spokesperson said, “We’re thrilled to be involved in this season of My Kitchen Rules to celebrate the best of Australian home cooks. As the Fresh Food People, we aim to give our customers all the best value, quality ingredients, and fresh produce, and we’re excited to see what the contestants cook up this year.”

My Kitchen Rules and Coles

Now, it’s worth noting that My Kitchen Rules didn’t surprise all of its fans with this news. Before Channel 7 officially confirmed things, a percentage of their audience already thought that My Kitchen Rules and Coles were through.

This is because in the first episode of this season, no Coles products were muttered by the likes of Manu Feildel and Colin Fassnidge. What’s more, My Kitchen Rules instead mentioned Woolworths.

During the episode, WA’s Tommy and Rach shopped for their ingredients at a Woolies. They bought stuff for their Rottnest scallops with white puree, crispy duck leg with blackberry, and chocolate-coated pear ice cream with cookie crumb.

On the social media platform X, many My Kitchen Rules fans critiqued this switcheroo.

As one audience member wrote, “Wait, they’re walking into Woolworths? I thought Coles sponsored this?”

My Kitchen Rules airs Mondays through Wednesdays. It will be on both Channel 7 and the 7plus app.
