It’s not exactly the story we ever anticipated writing, but Coles — right, the supermarket — has announced a commendable range of interior decor and accessories that we have to admit are pretty good looking.
Next time you stop off at the shops for toilet paper and snacks, you can also pick up a marble side table, ottoman, and woven basket.
Coles is launching its new homewares collection with decor brand Marketlane in 200 stores nationwide. The range is comprised of over 30 items, starting from $6.99 for a scented candle and climbing to $49.99 for a side table.
“Our homes have become our havens over the past year so we’re thrilled to be joining forces with a new and emerging brand, Marketlane to offer our customers the opportunity to shop amazing value, on-trend homewares which they’d normally find in a department or homewares store,” Coles General Manager for Non-Food, Jonathan Torr, said in a press release.
“The range is completely coordinated so, as part of their everyday grocery shop, customers can decorate their homes with pieces they know will work beautifully together.”
Expect faux plants and planters, including a fairly convincing fiddle leaf fig in a woven basket for $49.95, wall decor including clocks, mirrors and prints, and ottomans and side tables, including one with a real marble top for $49.99.
Finishing touches include scented candles, $6.99, glass vase sets, $9.99, and glass lanterns with candles for $9.99.
Coles drops its new decor and accessories from Friday 9 April.
