Everything You Need to Know About ‘Bump’ Season 2

Bump

WARNING: This article contains a spoiler from Bump season one.

It’s official. Stan is birthing a second season of their breakout Aussie series Bump.

Announced by the streaming service on January 11, star and co-creator of the series, Claudia Karvan, said that “Bump is the show we needed now” and she’s not wrong.

The series is “authentic, full of heart and humour and is testament to our resilience” and also showcases the wonderful diversity that Australia has to offer.

According to Stan, the show delivered (pun intended) “record-breaking” streaming numbers and catapulted its stars into the mainstream.

So, what do we know about the second season?

Who Is in the Returning Cast?

Starring Karvan and Angus Sampson, returning as Oly’s parents, the pair will be rejoined by Nathalie Morris who plays Oly, Carlos Sanson Jnr who plays Santi, alongside Catalina Palma, Safia Arain, Paula Garcia, Ioane Saula, Peter Thurnwald and Ricardo Scheihing Vasquez.

Stan also said that more of the confirmed cast and filming will be announced at a later date.

What Will it Be About?

Season one started with a 10-part drama series that centred around Oly (Morris), an ambitious and high-achieving teenage girl who has a surprise baby; and the complications that ensue for two families.

Set in and around a high school in contemporary inner Sydney and following the main characters home, Bump explored unexpected motherhood, unwelcome new relatives, and unintended consequences with humour and emotional honesty.

As for season two, there’s no word on the exact plot as Karvan and the writers still haven’t hit the writer’s room, however, now that Santi (Sanson Jr) and Oly are officially “seeing how it goes”, we’re hoping to see more of their relationship blossom. Not to mention, the gorgeous Baby J!

Where Can You Watch It?

You can stream Bump season one on Stan now.

When Will Season Two Be Out?

We’re highly anticipating an end of 2021, early 2022 release date with Stan announcing that filming for season two will start in 2021.

How Have the Cast Responded to the News?

Sanson Jr may have said it best when he took to his Instagram account on January 11.

“oh shit !!!! 🥳😱🤨” he captioned a post which announced the news.

Also responding like a Gen Z’er, Morris took to her Instagram account with emojis (“🙈🥳😂”).

If you’re loving these two as a couple, it seems that their friendship has certainly blossomed off the screen, with the two enjoying the New Year break together in Byron Bay with friends.

We’re not saying they are dating, but we’re not, not saying it — or better yet, hoping for it.
