Since publishing this story, Network Ten has announced the death of MasterChef Australia judge Jock Zonfrillo on April 30, 2023. MasterChef Australia Secrets and Surprises will now premiere on Sunday, May 7, with the full support of Zonfrillo’s family.
MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises is finally here, and we can’t wait to kick back on the couch and enjoy all the twists and turns. But with a new season, comes a new crop of faces to put to the names of the MasterChef Australia 2023 cast, and that’s why we’re here today.
Meet Grace Jupp, who is not your average 24-year-old. Grace is a wife, step-mum, business owner, university graduate, cooking enthusiast, and now, she’s ready to take on MasterChef Australia 2023.
Grace’s Love for Cooking
Born in Victoria and raised in Queensland, Grace’s passion for cooking was ignited by her family’s rich Croatian heritage. Her Baba, who cared deeply about feeding people, instilled in her a true admiration for produce. Today, Grace hopes to showcase Croatian flavours with her modern spin on traditional dishes, such as her Baba’s ‘pita’ or spanakopita.
Inspired by her husband, a former chef, Grace has expanded her culinary repertoire, discovering new flavours and techniques. Together, the couple owns and operates an olive oil company on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, where they produce some of the region’s finest olive oil.
While she can’t forego olive oil, garlic, and potatoes, Grace predicts that desserts and vegetables will be among her strengths, alongside the secret ingredient of her positive attitude.

Grace’s Battle With Endometriosis and Adenomyosis
Grace’s journey hasn’t been without its challenges.
At the age of 19, she was diagnosed with endometriosis and adenomyosis, conditions that often cause severe pain and discomfort.
Despite this, Grace remains determined to chase her dreams and not let her condition dictate her opportunities. Her participation in MasterChef is a testament to her strength and resilience.
Grace’s Hobbies, Interests and Goals
Beyond her passion for cooking, Grace enjoys going on long walks with friends, being in nature, reading, and photography.
Looking ahead, her ultimate dream is to own land with her husband, where they can grow and farm everything on site, creating a true farm-to-plate style property to share with others.
Grace’s story is one of determination, passion, and hope. As she joins the MasterChef Australia 2023 cast, she hopes to inspire others to chase their dreams, no matter the obstacles they face.
MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises premieres Sunday, May 7 at 7.30pm, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
