This year, Network Ten has been serving up all kinds of new and exciting shows. We’ve said “I could do that” while watching Hunted Australia and The Traitors, and set sail with The Real Love Boat, destination: true love. Now, Ten has given us one last reality competition series to close out the year in The Challenge Australia.
Hosted by Brihony Dawson, The Challenge Australia sees sports legends, influencers and reality TV stars go head to head in a series of intense physical challenges, all while living under the same roof of a very glam villa in Buenos Aires, where the show filmed.
Not only are they competing for the grand prize of $200,000, but the winner will also go on to represent Australia the first ever The Challenge: Global Championship, where they’ll go up against the winners of The Challenge: Argentina, The Challenge: USA, and The Challenge: UK.
One of the stars competing for the win is Married At First Sight legend “Cyclone” Cyrell Paule, who is best known for her chaotic disposition and ‘take no s**t’ attitude.

Since Cyrell’s stint on MAFS in 2019, though, a lot has changed for the one-time cyclone. For one, she’s since become a mother, after welcoming her son Boston with her partner, Love Island alum Eden Dally.
In a press statement, Cyrell admitted that she’s only “watched bits and pieces” of the US franchise of The Challenge, but that was partly because she “didn’t want to know too much about what to expect” as she went into the show.
“But from what I did see, I loved the drama,” she added.
Going into The Challenge Australia, Cyrell said that her biggest strength would also be her biggest weakness. Yep, you guessed it, it’s her mouth.
“I don’t hold back and I say things as I see them,” she said.
As for the gruelling physical challenges of The Challenge Australia, Cyrell said that while she did train “a fair bit” before heading out to Buenos Aires, there was really only so much that you could do to prepare for the show.
“Let’s be honest… did I train like a pro athlete? No,” she said. “I feel like you can try really hard, but you never really know what to expect. I’ve probably trained myself more mentally. For example, I’ve told myself that if anyone annoys me, have a glass of wine, drink it… And don’t throw it!”
Will Cyrell be able to give it her all in challenges and keep her wine in her hands? Only time will tell. Until then…
The Challenge Australia airs at 7.30pm on Network Ten on Mondays and Tuesdays. Catch up on 10 Play.
