‘The Challenge Australia’: Jack Vidgen Reveals His Secret Weapon

It’s been a bumper year for competitive reality TV in Australia and sneaking in before 2022 closes is Network 10’s latest series set to have us binging every episode, The Challenge Australia.

Hosted by Brihony Dawson, The Challenge Australia pits 22 sports legends, influencers and reality TV stars against one another to compete in a series of physical challenges all while living together in one mega-luxe and mega-romantic villa while vying for the ultimate prize of $200,000. Oh, and did we mention some of the contestants have dated before? What could possibly go wrong when living with and competing against your ex?

One of the contestants hoping to take home the prize is Jack Vidgen, a singer and podcaster who first rose to fame in 2011 when he won season 5 of Australia’s Got Talent. Since then, Jack’s also competed in I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!, The Masked Singer and Ninja Warrior.

“My strategy going into the game is really to build genuine connections and friendships. That’s how I operate in life. I’m not good with fakeness, so I’d like to build alliances with people that I genuinely like,” Jack said in a press statement.

Jack went on to add that he’s open to alliances, but only if he reaches the final stages of the game and pairing up becomes a necessary tool for survival.

Obviously, somebody has to win, and you would choose yourself whether you are in an alliance or not,” he explained.

As for what the 25-year-old brings to the show and how he plans to take out the top spot?

“My secret weapon is not only my arse, but I think it could be going under the radar,” he said. “My plan is to chug along without being noticed so much as being a great player. If nobody sees me as a threat then maybe that will get me to the end of the game.”

But will Jack succeed and come out on top? Only time will tell…

The Challenge Australia airs at 7.30pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand.
