‘MasterChef Australia’ Has Crowned Its Winner for 2022!

Tonight, it all came to an end. MasterChef Australia has crowned its winner for 2022! In what was a history-making finale, contestant Billie McKay took home the title and the $250,000 for the second time — something that has never been done before.

It was a tough two rounds, with both Billie and Sarah Todd giving it their all. The two women went head-to-head in a nail-biting finale, but in the end, only one of them could be the next MasterChef Australia

Both ‘Favourites’ put on a stellar performance and beat out 22 other contestants to get to the last round.

While Sarah didn’t end up winning the competition, she didn’t go home empty-handed. The cook was given $30,000.

Judging the dishes in this year’s grand finale were Andy Allen, Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and guest chef, Heston Blumenthal.

Sarah dominated in the first round and found herself five points ahead of Billie. However, it was the second round that saw Billie race ahead.

Her recreation of Heston’s dessert managed to blow the judges away and solidified her win.

Billie first won MasterChef Australia back in 2015, after beating fellow contestant Georgia Barnes.

After her initial stint on the show, she went to work for Heston in the UK before coming back to Australia to live a far more simple life.

Now, she has made history by being the first person to win MasterChef Australia twice.
