MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises has premiered, and we’ve been loving getting to know the hopeful home cooks who make up our Top 18. Of course, if you’re here, it’s probably to find out who went home on MasterChef Australia 2023. It’s the unfortunate reality of reality competitions — there can only be one winner.
Another bittersweet element of MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises is, of course, the sudden and unexpected death of judge Jock Zonfrillo. He was confirmed dead just hours before the new season was set to premiere.
The premiere episode was immediately pulled from the schedule as his family, friends, coworkers and fans grappled with the shocking news.
With the full support of Zonfrillo’s family, the season premiered a week later, and now MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises is airing five nights a week.
Our Top 18 chefs have poured their heart and soul into the competition, but only one will make it to the end. Here’s everyone we’ve said goodbye to along the way.
