If you were starting to get a little bored by all of the tears, fighting and forced intimacy on the current season of Married at First Sight then maybe a change of scenery is just what you need.
Luckily, Channel 9 has just the ticket with the remaining couples being sent to a luxury location to participate in a couples retreat so they can rip each other to shreds in a whole new postcode.
The couples can be seen taking up residence at the award-winning Kalinya Estate in Bargo, New South Wales and suffice to say it’s pretty spectacular.
According to their official website, “the private Estate is proudly owned and operated by Chris and Mandy Barnes, who will warmly welcome you like long-time friends. They’re deeply passionate and go above and beyond to deliver a personalised service. No matter the size or occasion you’ve come to celebrate, be it private or corporate, you’re in for a treat.”
If you were curious about the name Kalinya – it’s an Indigenous Australian word meaning good, beautiful and honest.
Speaking of beautiful, the estate styles and decorates each area individually. With guest quarters featuring luxurious bedding and linen to high-end eco-friendly body products. And in great news for sustainably-minded visitors, the property only uses environmentally-conscious products for laundry and cleaning.
Kalinya Estate is made up of three historic homes, the Homestead, the Barn and, The Lodge.
If the space looks familiar to you, it could be because Kalinya Estate has been featured on a reality series before — the grand finale of Elly and Becky‘s season of The Bachelorette was also filmed there.
The property sits on five stunning acres nestled in the Southern Highlands. You can hire it to host special events such as weddings or corporate retreats.
Bonus features include a giant chessboard, gold class cinema and lecture theatre, gym, squash court and a piano lounge.
As you might expect for such a luxurious and well-planned space, renting Kalinya does not come cheap, with prices for the entire property starting at around $6440 a night.
