Leon Bridges Is Heading to the Sydney Opera House for Two Incredible Nights

Leon Bridges

Grammy Award-winning performer Leon Bridges is coming to Sydney for two not-to-be-missed shows that will see him perform at the newly upgraded Concert Hall at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

The chart-topping, soul singer will be among the first contemporary music artists to perform in the Concert Hall after its reopening — which was two years and millions of dollars in the making.

Bridges’ Opera House gigs will be part of his Boundless Tour, which will see him performing from his award-winning catalogue of songs including his latest album, Gold-Diggers Sound.

In a statement, Sydney Opera House Head of Contemporary Music, Ben Marshall said,  “There’s no better way to welcome contemporary music back into the renewed Concert Hall than with the timeless soul and R&B of Leon Bridges. What a thrill it’ll be hearing his powerful, golden voice reverberating around the vaulted ceiling of the Opera House’s grandest room, a space now perfectly configured for experiencing the extraordinary sonic care inherent in all Leon’s songs.

“Gold-Diggers Sound deals with time – time stopping, time stretching – an appropriate motif for this moment, stopped from communally experiencing music and song for so long. Now we can do it together again in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall at last, and it’s going to be an absolute blast.”

Texan-born Bridges exploded with his 2015 track Coming Home and the best-selling, Billboard Top-10 album of the same name — spawning the single ‘River’ and prompting comparisons to legendary soul artists such as Sam Cooke and Otis Redding.  He then followed up 2018’s, Good Thing before releasing Gold-Diggers Sound, which is currently up for two Grammys, in 2021.

Whilst in Australia, Bridges will also be performing shows in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Busselton. See the full tour schedule below.
