Big Brother Royalty Vs New Contenders has kicked off with a bang, and from the first couple of episodes, it looks like we’re in for a stellar season of challenges, mind games and trickery.
This season, as the title would suggest, we’ve got eight returning Big Brother housemates from seasons past, including previous winners Reggie Bird and Trevor Butler, as well as Farmer Dave Graham, who came out on national television in 2006.
Also returning to the house is one of Big Brother‘s most controversial and chaotic former couples, Tully Smyth and Anthony Drew, but this is Big Brother Australia, so there’s a twist in store, obviously.
Joining the cast as one of the season’s New Contenders is Sam, an Intimacy Coach who also happens to be Drew’s current girlfriend. We can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

The premiere episode saw four of our Royals — Tim Dormer, Reggie Bird, Farmer Dave Graham and Estelle Landy — enter the house with the task of staying hidden from the 11 New Contenders, who entered the house shortly thereafter. Their challenge? To make it to the mainframe of the house without being spotted.
The Royals were successful in their mission, and found themselves with the power to stop the first night’s eviction from going ahead. They did, and four entered the house officially.
On night two, New Contender Josh was fuming over the eviction that wasn’t. Oh, and did we mention that Josh used to date Sam, who’s now dating Drew, who used to date Tully? It’s chaos.
Josh was keen to give things another shot with Sam, but Sam told him that she just wants to be friends. Devastated, Josh told the housemates he wanted to be nominated for eviction, and he got his wish!
When Joel won the second challenge in a row, he nominated Josh, Sam, and Estelle. When it came down to a tie between Josh and Sam, the decision reverted back to the challenge winner, Joel, who gave Josh the boot.
