You’d be hard-pressed to find someone more excited about this season of Big Brother Australia than Johnson Ashak, who, incidentally, happens to be one of this season’s New Contenders.
On Big Brother Royalty Vs New Contenders, Big Brother has brought back eight of his most iconic housemates from past seasons, including past winners Reggie Bird, Tim Dormer and Trevor Butler. There are also fan favourites Farmer Dave Graham and Estelle Landy, as well as Tully Smyth and Drew Anthony, one of the series’ most infamous relationships.
Ashak is a longtime Big Brother superfan, so to go into the house is an absolute dream come true. What’s better than getting to play Big Brother? Getting to make a name for yourself as a master strategist while taking down your childhood idols.
“I have always wanted to apply for Big Brother since I was seven or eight,” said Ashak in his pre-show Q&A.
Ashak’s Big Brother strategy was to come out swinging and play hard from the day he entered the house, and so far, he’s been able to do that. He’s expecting to be remembered as “funny, smart and a game player”.
An ambitious and opinionated person, Ashak is a civil engineer in the real world, and he’s expecting his “logic and… ability to problem solve” to be his main strengths in the house.
Despite not being “a physical threat yet”, Ashak said that he’s most looking forward to competing in “the challenges”, and is expecting his stubborn and competitive nature to help carry him through to victory.
On the other hand, he’s expecting his “inability to be patient” to be one of his weaknesses when it comes to the game, and is dreading “the loss of overall control”.
“I’m a micro-manager, I like to manage everything,” Ashak admitted.
Will Ashak be able to strategise his way to the end? Only time will tell. Until then…
Big Brother Royalty Vs New Contenders airs Monday – Wednesdays, only on Channel 7 and 7 Plus.
