A week after it was initially scheduled to go to air, MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises has premiered. MasterChef Australia 2023 was initially set for a May 1 premiere date, but was quickly pulled from the line up when the news that judge Jock Zonfrillo had died suddenly and unexpectedly.
With the full support of Zonfrillo’s family, Network 10 announced that the series would premiere the following week, on Sunday, May 8. Now, MasterChef Australia: Secrets and Surprises is in full swing, and while it’s a bittersweet affair this season, there’s still a lot to be excited about.
Fans of the show are already falling in love with the new crop of hopeful home cooks who are competing for the win. Grace Jupp has become an early fan favourite, along with Jessica Perri. Of course, this is just the start of the season, and we can’t wait to see what everyone brings to the table. Rue Mupedzi seems primed to be the breakout star of MasterChef Australia 2023, and Robbie Cooper‘s distinct blend of Aboriginal Asian fusion food is sure to have our mouths watering.
