Somebody Told Me The Killers Have Announced a Huge Australian Tour in 2022

the killers australia 2022

As things start to open up again following the uncertainty of the pandemic, Australia is set to play home to some of the world’s most exciting musical acts once more.

Artists like Snoop Dogg, Dua Lipa and our very own RÜFÜS DU SOL have all announced they will be hitting our shores in 2022 and now Vegas rockers The Killers have jumped on the Aussie show bandwagon.

The beloved group, who exploded onto the scene in 2004 with their debut album Hot Fuss, will play a nine-date mix of arena and outdoor shows in New Zealand and Australia on their Imploding The Mirage Tour 2022 in November and December.

Originally announced in 2020 when COVID first threw a spanner in the works of everything, this will be The Killers’ first time back on our shores since their 2018 Australasian tour which included ten completely sold-out arena shows.

Earlier in 2021 while touring was still on hold due to the ongoing pandemic, The Killers released their seventh studio album, Pressure Machine, which documents life in the American Southwest. The album spawned the singles ‘Quiet Town’ and ‘Runaway Horses (featuring Phoebe Bridgers)’.

Consisting of Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer and Ronnie Vannucci Jr, The Killers have sold over thirty million albums worldwide and headlined all of the world’s top festivals including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Glastonbury.

Having personally seen them headline Governor’s Ball Festival in New York in 2016, I can say without a hint of irony that watching these guys perform is one of the greatest things you will ever do. I mean, they actually stopped torrential rain with ‘Mr Brightside’ — no word of a lie.

In addition to dropping hit singles like ‘Somebody Told Me’, ‘When You Were Young’, ‘All These Things That I’ve Done’ and ‘Read My Mind’, The Killers have racked up multiple Grammy nominations, American Music Award nominations, MTV Video Music Awards and NME Awards.
