Who Is Peter Bol?
Nagmeldin “Peter” Bol was born in Khartoum, Sudan during 1994. His family fled from Sudan’s civil war when he was four. They came to Australia, and Bol grew up in Perth.
At the age of 16, Bol began running 800 metre races. What’s more, he was good and has only gotten better. In 2022, he came second at the Commonwealth Games.
Some other notable wins took place at the 2018 Diamond League and the 2018 Stockholm BAUHAUS-galan. Bol also won the 800 metre race at the Australian Athletics Championships three different times. He won this race in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
Did Peter Bol Use EPO?
In January of 2023, a drug test alleged that Peter Bol had synthetic EPO in his blood system. But what is Synthetic EPO? Well, it’s a banned substance that can boost one’s red blood cell count and athletic performance.
However, in August of 2023, Bol was found not guilty of this sports crime. Sport Integrity Australia declared that the original test was a false positive.
“I have been exonerated,” Bol said in a statement. “It was a false positive like I have said all along! The news from Sport Integrity Australia today was a dream come true… No one should ever experience what I’ve gone through this year.”
