On MasterChef Australia 2024, it’s dangerous to be in the middle of the pack. As the season progresses, it becomes more and more likely to be eliminated. At this stage of the 2024 MasterChef Australia competition, Sue hasn’t hit rock bottom, but she needs to raise her cooking game, and stat.

During the first elimination episode, Sue whipped up a decent duck ragu. While this dish saved her from being eliminated, it wasn’t anything to write home about.
According to the judge, Jean-Christophe Novelli, only the best of the best will make it to the end, and this year’s contestants are better than ever.
“You forget they’re not chefs,” Jean-Christophe said in an interview with The Latch. “They are amateur cooks. I keep forgetting that. I was judging them like professional chefs. The contestants are just so good. And the atmosphere, the ambience, the emotion, the speed? It’s just on the next level.”
Here’s everything we know about the 2024 MasterChef Australia contestant Sue.
Who Is the 2024 MasterChef Australia Contestant Sue?
Until recently, MasterChef Australia’s Sue was Head of Customer Experiences for a building company. But when this company unexpectedly collapsed, Sue was left unemployed. However, there was a silver lining to be found. Sue used the experience to reassess her priorities, and made the decision to finally chase her culinary dreams.

Since Sue was just a child, she has always loved cooking. During the 1980s, she was in awe of the lavish dinner parties her mother threw. Likewise, Sue’s passion for food as an adult has been emboldened by her Sri Lankan mother-in-law.
Sue’s final muse is MasterChef Australia itself. As a fan for many years, Sue is no longer content watching on from home. She’s now ready to get a piece of the action and prove to Australia that anything is possible.
