On the 2024 season of MasterChef Australia, there are two Joshes, Josh Perry and Josh Clarke. Fortunately though, Perry has a sweet nickname, Pezza. But while Pezza has linguistically separated himself from the pack, can he win MasterChef Australia 2024?
So far in the MasterChef Australia competition, Pezza has had a few wins. During the most recent group challenge, at Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Market, Pezza led his team of Sue, Sumeet, Steve, and Mimi to victory. He did this by directing them to cook crisp capsicums stuffed with potato and a scrumptious eggplant dip.
Like most MasterChef Australia contestants, Pezza has a thrilling backstory. Let’s dive into the details right now.
Who Is the 2024 MasterChef Australia Contestant Pezza?
The 2024 MasterChef Australia Contestant, Josh Pezza Perry, is a butcher from Smithton, Tasmania. Pezza grew up in a tight-knit community, and currently runs his butchery, Perry’s Quality Meats, with his wife Jen and their two adult sons. But while Pezza might be a small-town boy, his culinary dreams are huge.
On MasterChef Australia, Pezza plans to use his life experience to his advantage. Pezza isn’t a stranger to working 10 to 12 hour days and working with top-notch meats.
Pezza’s love of cooking was passed down to him from his Mum, Nan, and Aunt. Likewise, his culinary heroes include the likes of Rick Stein, Neil Perry, Maggie Beer, and Jamie Oliver.
During his MasterChef Australia, Pezza hopes to grow and learn as a cook. He’s specifically looking to improve his pastry skills, as savoury dishes are his strength. Pezza’s also trying to enjoy every moment on this show, as he knows this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
