“You forget they’re not chefs,” Jean-Christophe said in an interview with The Latch. “They are amateur cooks. I keep forgetting that. I was judging them like professional chefs. The contestants are just so good. And the atmosphere, the ambience, the emotion, the speed? It’s just on the next level.”

MasterChef Australia’s David is a national clinical trials administrator in Queensland, working with cancer patients on their crucial treatment plans. David has put this career on hold to see where his MasterChef Australia journey might take him.
Growing up in Singapore, David fell in love with his culture’s scrumptious dishes and vibrant flavours. He has fond memories of cooking with both his father and grandmother, knowing that cooking was their love language. Now David’s all grown up, he has spent his adult years refining his craft and wants to make his role models proud.
David moved to Australia seven years ago, and he’s ready for another challenge. MasterChef Australia is a chance for David to hone his passion for food and test how far he has come as a cook.
