Love hotels are exactly what you’d expect from their name. They’re hotels designed to give couples space to spend some undisturbed time together and, ideally, dial up the romance. Think large, comfy beds, a TV with erotic shows and often free condoms.
While they’re most common in Japan, where they first originated, Australia has its own version, in the form of sexy suites (looking at you, W Hotel Brisbane x Lovehoney Australia’s Sexiest Hotel Suite) and a platform called Dayuse that you can use to book rooms at popular hotels by the hour.
But while the service is available in Brisbane, Canberra, Perth and Melbourne, it’s not in Sydney. So, if you’re keen on a romantic stay in Sydney, and would prefer a full night, where to go? Ahead, we share some of Sydney’s sexiest stays that’ll help maximise your and your partner’s pleasure, whether that be in the bedroom or simply in a setting conducive to good conversation.

QT Sydney
The QT brand is known to be sexy, and at QT Sydney, you can expect moody lighting and touches of texture. When you’re finally ready to leave your room, dine or sip at one of the hotel’s three venues, Gowings, Parlour or QTea High Tea, or book a treatment at on-site spaQ. Couples treatments include The Suite Retreat, which includes a massage, facial and foot massage, and the SOULMATE Escape, a 90-minute massage for two with an ‘accessory’ of your choice.
Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour
While to many, Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour could be considered a family hotel, it’s big enough that you could spend your whole stay without seeing one. For a truly special stay, go for the luxury room with a view of Darling Harbour. There, you and your partner can soak in a standalone tub, admiring views from the bathroom’s floor-to-ceiling windows.
The Darling
The Darling’s interiors are grand and sophisticated everywhere you look. If you’re after a romantic stay, book into one of the hotel’s eight Adored Suite, which features a lounge area, glass dining table and king-size bed planted next to a circular spa bath. Both the bed and bath are in front of a large window overlooking the Harbour Bridge.
Paramount House Hotel
If you’re planning date night at one of Surry Hills’ many cosy restaurants, book into Paramount House Hotel so you won’t have far to go after. Housed in the former headquarters of Paramount Picture Studios in Surry Hills, the boutique hotel has room types ranging from Everyday and Sunny, to Nook and Mack Daddy. The latter of which has a bedroom, lounge and balcony with plants and seating so you can curl up together there with a cup of coffee in the morning, listening to the street sounds below.
Spicers Potts Point
Housed in three conjoined terrace houses, Spicers Potts Point is a boutique hotel with just 16 rooms and four suites, which translates to plenty of privacy. Inside, you’ll find a blend of heritage and contemporary — think marble fireplaces, wooden floorboards and classic staircases alongside cool slate tiles and sleek furniture. The nicest room, Victoria Terrace Suite, has a private terrace overlooking leafy Victoria Street.
The Langham
The Langham Sydney’s sub-ground-level pool with its starry skyscape above is almost always featured in round-ups of romantic hotels in Sydney. Located in a beautiful Irish Georgian-style building, the hotel has rooms ranging from deluxe and terrace, to The Residence and The Observatory Suite. If your idea of a romantic getaway includes your pooch, you’ll be pleased to know the hotel is pet-friendly.
