Today, it has two restaurants, Kiln and Loam, a fitness centre and free use of bikes. Room sizes range from small to the Loft Suite and, biggest of them all, Ace Suite, which features a dining table for four, a lounge area and even a turntable and acoustic guitar.

202 Elizabeth

The newest hotel on this list, 202 Elizabeth opened in February 2023. Hidden behind discrete doors on Elizabeth Street, it has 38 rooms across six levels, many with balconies. The hotel is adults only (16+), pet-friendly and aims to bring the outdoors in with Australian artists and designers showcased on every corner. Sustainability is key here, with the hotel built from the inside out — mostly built offsite and then lifted into place by cranes.
