Welcome to Good Burger home of the Good Burger, Can I take your order?
Yes, I’d like some fries with a side of a Good Burger sequel, thanks!
Appearing on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon, comedians Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell made a massive announcement, telling fans a Good Burger sequel movie is in the works. Tasty!

“It’s been years,” said Thompson when asked how long the sequel had been in the works. “Pretty much since the first one we’ve been wanting to do the second one.”
Ever since the comedic duo filmed a Good Burger sketch on ‘The Tonight Show’ back in 2015, fans of the original have been begging for a sequel.
“The people have spoken, we want to see this movie!” said Jimmy Fallon.
When Can We Watch Good Burger 2?
As per reports from Variety, production on Good Burger 2 will begin in May with it slated to be released later in 2023. As far as film production goes that’s a fairly swift turnaround, but given the original film was released in 1997 we guess they’ve had some time to get their burgers in order.
Where Can We Watch Good Burger 2?
The production of Good Burger 2 has been ordered by Paramount Plus, home of Nickelodeon, which means fans can expect to stream the sequel on their platform later in the year.
“We’re thrilled to take audiences’ orders for more laughter and adventures with the Good Burger crew,” said chief programming officer of Paramount Streaming Tanya Giles in an official statement. “Good Burger 2 will be a great addition to our 2023 programming slate and is sure to serve up everything ‘All That’ fans and new viewers alike will enjoy.”
In the meantime, while you’re waiting you can watch old episodes of All That the sketch comedy series that saw the beginnings of Good Burger! That’s some classic old-school Nickelodeon viewing to wrap your teeth around.
Who Will Be Starring in Good Burger 2?
As to be expected the two stars of the show – Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell – will be returning to their infamous roles as Dexter and Ed.
“Being a part of something so many generations of people have come to love has made me so proud and now to be back where it all began working on the sequel is surreal!” said Thompson in a statement. “Love performing with my brother Kel and can’t wait to show the fans what these characters have been up to since we last saw them.”
“Ed is one of those timeless characters that has brought so much joy and laughter to fans, and it’s such a beautiful blessing to still be doing it after all these years,” added Mitchell in a statement. “It’s super awesome to come back and continue the stories of Dex, Ed and Good Burger for both the people who grew up watching and their kids.”
The film’s producers, Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, also went on to tease there would be “cameos and plenty of Easter eggs from the original,” which means we could see some beloved faces of Nickelodeon folklore. I’m not saying that I need Amanda Bynes to come out of retirement for this movie, but I’m not not saying that, you know?
What Will Good Burger 2 Be About?
If Kenan and Kel’s announcement on ‘The Tonight Show’ is any indication, these two will be back to their old antics — flipping burgers and making us giggle. The official synopsis of Good Burger 2 reads:
“Dexter Reed (Thompson) is down on his luck after another one of his inventions fails. Ed (Mitchell) welcomes Dex back to Good Burger with open arms and gives him his old job back. With a new crew working at Good Burger, Dex devises a plan to get back on his feet but unfortunately puts the fate of Good Burger at risk once again.”
TBC on whether or not they’ll raise the cost of Good Burgers thanks to inflation.
