How Often Should You Replace Your Bathroom Hand Towels? Finally, a Definitive Answer

How often are we supposed to replace our bathroom towels is a question most of us haven’t really asked ourselves. While there’s no real formula to figuring it out, according to Leanne Ctapf, Chief Operating Officer of The Cleaning Authority, a good rule of thumb is to do it every two years.

After the two-year mark, towels tend to lose their ability to absorb water. But age isn’t just the telltale sign to replace your bathroom towels. You should also replace them if they have unpleasant odours or stains, even after washing, or if you notice any damage, holes or raggedy edges.

Also, just because you get a new set of towels, there’s no need to throw away your old ones but instead repurpose them for other uses. Old towels can dry your pup after a muddy dog walk, or you can donate them to a local animal shelter. Alternatively, cut them up and use them as cleaning rags.

So, if your towels have seen better days and you think it’s time to invest in a fresh set, we’ve gathered a great range of bathroom towel sets to choose from. These suit every budget and style, so you can find the perfect set that looks great in your bathroom and also helps to dry you efficiently.
