Today, Amazon Australia announced the dates of its highly anticipated Black Friday sales. It’s the annual period when hundreds of thousands of products in categories electronics, toys, beauty, homewares, and everyday and pantry essentials are heavily discounted.
This year, the sale will run from Tuesday, November 19 to Monday, December 2. It’s a great time to work through your holiday gift list or grab a big-ticket item for yourself you’ve long had your eyes on.
If you haven’t yet signed up for a 30-day free trial of Amazon Prime, it’s worth getting a membership ahead of the Black Friday sales to take advantage of free and faster delivery options on eligible orders. Just remember to cancel the membership after the trial’s over, if you’re not keen to extend it.
Also for sale during the Black Friday period will be a special Christmas dish, a twist on the classic plum pudding. Created by Aussie dessert connoisseur Anna Polyviou, the $10 pudding will be a savoury mix of ham, turkey, gravy, pumpkin, cherry and rosemary flavours.
“Christmas is one of the only times where anything and everything goes,” says Polyviou. “We not only mix mouthfuls, but flavours too. Based on the popularity of last year’s pudding, it will sell fast, so get in early and load up the pantry with the turducken of Christmas desserts.”
Polyviou, an award-winning pastry chef and TV personality, teamed up with country Victorian small business Pud For All Seasons to create the pudding. Last year’s pudding, also created by Polyviou, was a twist on the Aussie cob loaf.
