If you thought the trailer for James Bond’s No Time To Die was epic, then you need to catch the trailer for upcoming film Wonder Woman 1984.
The first footage of the film starring Gal Gadot and Kristen Wiig we’re so here for this female-led film.
The new installment is a follow up to 2017’s popular film, Wonder Woman, and is set forty years later. It’s now the Cold War and Gadot’s Diana Prince has lost many of her friends — a common happenstance for someone with immortality.
In the first look, Prince befriends an archaeologist named Barbara Minerva (Wiig) who by undertaking an ancient ritual, ends up channeling an ancient goddess known by the name as Cheetah.
What begins as a friendship, quickly turns into an all-out battle of epic proportions as Wonder Woman fights to save the world.
During the event, director Patty Jenkins (I Am the Night), who also directed the 2017 installment, spoke about the addition of villain, Cheetah.
“We knew that Kristen Wiig would kill it, and she went beyond our wildest dreams,” said Jenkins during the event.
The film also sees the return of Diana’s long-lost love, Steve Trevor (played by heavenly Chris Pine) — but how, after he sacrificed himself in the first film, did he manage to do so?
We’ll just have to wait and see.
