Farmer Nick Onassis lived in Los Angeles for 27-years before returning home to Tasmania to live life on his vineyard.
Finding love to share his love of the land (and wine) would mean everything to the 44-year-old who has put his faith in the TV God’s on Farmer Wants a Wife 2020.
Onassis is looking for a woman who is happy, smiley and can push him to be a better man. While he’s looking for a partner, he wants an “independent woman” who has “a bunch of stuff going on” and a woman, who is “happy to do her own thing.”
Farmer Nick has a very supportive side, hoping that his future lady has dreams to follow of her own, and likes “honesty, drive and commitment”.
“I find it attractive when someone finishes what they start…I like an adventurous woman too,” he said in his introduction interview.
A bit of a larrikin, Onassis says he brings “a lot of wine” to a relationship and knows where to find the best tacos — a big tick in our books!
According to the Californian-born farmer, he once protected his ex-girlfriend from a coyote who tried to attack her while they were watching a meteor shower.
“I held her hand while she received five or so giant rabies shots. It was gnarly,” he said.
In terms of kids, we know he wants them — it’s just a matter of when.
“I’d like to have a kid exactly nine months after first meeting a woman,” he said jokingly.
In an interview with The Mercury, Onassis said he’d “tried all kinds of dating”.
“I’ll give anything a go. You never know when you’re going to meet the right woman.’’
As for his home, Marion’s Vineyard, it is located 35kms north of Launceston, right in the heart of the Tamar Valley Wine Route in a town called Deviot.
It was founded in 1979 by Onassis’ parents, Marion and Mark Semmens who were attracted to the state’s cool climate, confident they could make good wine there.
