For many, one of the best ways to unwind on a summer weekend is with a cold alcoholic beverage. If that’s you and you’re looking for something affordable but that still feels special, consider Croser’s latest creation, Orange Spritz.
The brand is known for its sparkling wines, but this new drink uses the bubbles as a base and adds to it, infusing orange, tangerine, and grapefruit bitters. The drink uses pinot noir and chardonnay grapes.
The result is a rose gold-coloured, light-bodied drink with notes of citrus. Extra herbal flavours help to balance the bitterness, resulting in a fruity yet dry sparkling drink.
To serve the Orange Spritz, you simply need to pour it over ice — ideally in a large bowl-shaped wine glass — and, if you’re feeling fancy, garnish it with a slice of fresh or freeze-dried orange. It’s best sipped as an aperitif or paired with light appetisers.
If it’s too zesty for your palate and you’re keen for a drier, less bitter taste, grab the original Croser NV Sparkling instead at the same $30 per bottle. Or, if you want something sweeter, go for a Croser NV Sparkling Rose ($30). They’re all available at Liquorland, Vintage Cellars and First Choice.
