When it comes to choosing gifts for special occasions, Father’s Day is up there among the hardest. While this certainly isn’t the case for all dads, many do go ahead and buy themselves whatever it is they’re wanting — and, let’s face it, are quite content with it.
So, what to get the partner or Dad they’re guaranteed to not already have? An experience, that’s what. An experience gift can be an incredibly thoughtful way to show the giftee how much you care, as well as help them to create lasting memories, particularly if you and the whole family can get involved.

Ahead, we share some of our favourite experience gifts for Dad this Father’s Day. From a spa visit that he can turn into a whole pamper day, to a tiny house stay where he can finally switch off, consider getting him these to celebrate the day.
An At-Home Massage
For a busy dad, having him carve out time for a spa treatment you’ve gifted him can often just give him more stress. Help him eliminate any hassle by booking him a session with a therapist from mobile self-care service Blys that’ll come right to his home. You can even book him a specific treatment, like a Deep Tissue Massage, Cupping Massage or Sports Massage, or get him a voucher.
A Spa Visit
If your dad does have time for an out-of-the-house spa day, book him in somewhere he can stay and take full advantage of the facilities afterwards. After a treatment at The Darling Spa at The Star in Sydney, he can use the Moroccan Hammam chamber, steam room and hot tub. At Melbourne’s Crown Spa, he can use any of the Aqua Retreat facilities, including a vitality pool, steam room or 25-metre lap pool.
A Tiny House Stay
Help Dad switch off by getting him a stay at an off-grid tiny house. You can get him a voucher to any of the many tiny house-specific accommodation providers, like Tiny Away or Unyoked, or get a gift card to use at Airbnb, which offers thousands of privately-owned tiny houses.
Brewery Tour
Beer-making is a fascinating process, and if the dad in your life appreciates the beverage, he’ll enjoy learning it. On RedBalloon’s Micro Brewery Tour and Beer Tasting in Sydney, he’ll spend an afternoon visiting three craft beer spots, learn the process of making craft beer and, of course, get to taste the beer at each of the three venues. A Melbourne version, Urban Beer Tour With Lunch, will see him spending a full day dropping by four breweries and craft beer venues, and tuck into lunch in between.
