Spoil Dad to a Special Lunch on Father’s Day at These Sydney Venues

Those in Sydney last year will remember that Father’s Day fell during lockdown (2.0). You could get your dad or partner a gift you ordered online, or make them a delicious meal you made with ingredients from your (rare) food shop, but you couldn’t celebrate out of the house.

Fortunately, things are different this year. Father’s Day 2022 — which falls on Sunday, September 4 — can see us actually making plans to take Dad out and treat him to something special.

Here, we’ve spotlighted some of our favourite Sydney venues for Father’s Day lunch. If none of these suit, you could check out a restaurant app like TheFork, which’ll show you other special set menus on the day at Sydney venues

Londres 126, CBD

In the mood for Mexican? Take the dad in your life to Quay Quarters venue Londres 126. Inspired by the legendary parties thrown by Mexican artist Friday Kahlo, the restaurant serves prettily-plated fare on a concise menu in a sophisticated, wood-panelled setting. Father’s Day here is a la carte.

Make a day of it by strolling over the Royal Botanic Gardens afterward.

Forrester’s, Surry Hills

From 12pm, Surry Hills pub and restaurant Forrester’s will be cooking up its usual Big Yorkie, which Dad will love for Father’s Day lunch. Setting him (or you, if you’re shouting him) $32, it’s filled with the roast, crispy spuds, peas and carrots. If that doesn’t tickle his fancy, he can order a la carte, with a menu including sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream as a finisher.

Forresters

The Butler, Potts Point

Father’s Day at The Butler gives you the option to order a la carte or the $75pp Butler’s Banquet menu that features Head Chef’s Amber Doig’s favourite selection of dishes from the Ibero-American-influenced menu.
