Can you believe 2011 was 10 years ago? We can’t. TBH, it feels like it was the 90s was only 10 years ago, so it’s truly wild to think how much time has actually passed.
If you’re like us—bored and sitting around in lockdown—join us on a walk down memory lane as we look at all the films that had us laughing, crying and gasping in 2011.
Bad Teacher
Remember when Cameron Diaz wasn’t retired? We miss her!
This crass comedy reunited Diaz with her ex, Justin Timberlake, who she dated off and on between 2003 and 2007. The pair split on good terms, though and also worked together on Shrek the Third.

Help us, we’re poor!

Captain America: The First Avenger
With Captain America now being such an integral part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s hard to believe that this film took over a decade to get off the ground.
Originally a concept way back in 1997, a copyright lawsuit stalled production until 2003, at which point the director attached to the film changed hands a number of times before finally landing with Joe Johnston.

Friends With Benefits x No Strings Attached

Limitless
This slick sci-fi flick stars Bradley Cooper as a writer who unlocks the ~limitless~ potential to his brain with a pill. It also features the line “math became useful”, which—as a writer who failed maths from year 10 onwards—is honestly a mood.
Watch it on Stan.
Melancholia
Remember how shook we all were when Lars Von Trier robbed Kiki Dunst of her chance at an Oscar campaign by saying that he understood Hitler at the Cannes Film Festival? It’s such a shame, because it is truly one of her best films, and there are plenty to choose from!
