MasterChef: Dessert Masters. A MasterChef Australia series that skips entrees and mains. A series that’s all about the best part of any meal, the dessert.
In this season, 10 Aussie bakers, pastry chefs, and chocolatiers all compete for the title of being Australia’s first-ever Dessert Master. However, more importantly, they are all competing to win $100,000.
One of MasterChef: Dessert Masters contestants is Kay-Lene Tan. She’s everything we know about this iconic cook.
Who Is Kay-Lene Tan?
Kay-Lene Tan didn’t always want to be a pastry chef. In fact, she started her life as a documentary filmmaker. However, at the age of 25, Kay-Lene had an identity crisis and enrolled in At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy’s Diploma of Pastry and Bakery Art.
Since switching careers, Kay-Lene has gone from stride to slay. She’s been the Head Chef of the Tonka Restaurant and the Executive Pastry Chef of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel.
In 2024, Kay-Lene will be working at a new restaurant, alongside the iconic chef Adam D’Sylva. This restaurant is called Decca Restaurant and will be located in YarraBend, Melbourne.
“I can’t wait for all of you to come and dine with us at Decca Restaurant,” Kay-Lene wrote on Instagram. “Here’s to new beginnings and good vibes only!”
Will Kay-Lene Tan Win MasterChef: Dessert Masters?
In this upcoming season of MasterChef: Dessert Masters, Kay-Lene Tan isn’t messing about. She wants her food to do the talking and land in the top bout of contestants. Kay-Lene has the attitude of a winner.
MasterChef: Dessert Masters is set to premiere at 7.30pm on Sunday, November 12, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. If you miss this episode, you can catch up on 10 Play.
