Put on your aprons and turn your mixers up to eleven, because MasterChef Australia is returning soon. But this year isn’t going to be an average season, because in 2024, MasterChef Australia is headed overseas.

This year, MasterChef Australia will include three episodes that were filmed in Hong Kong. This city is home to 77 Michelin-starred restaurants and over 15,000 dining establishments, which makes it the perfect place to find culinary inspiration. Along for the ride are MasterChef Australia 2024 judges Andy Allen, Poh Ling Yeow, Sofia Levin, and Jean-Christophe Novelli, who are excited to see what the contestants will plate up while in Hong Kong.

In a press statement, Andy said that he’d never been to Hong Kong before, so he was excited about the upcoming MasterChef Australia journey.

“I’ve been really interested in the place for a long time,” Andy said. “I see the city’s array of food is off the charts: it’s a melting pot of different cultures, bold flavours, and one-of-a-kind ingredients.”

“Blending Michelin-starred restaurants with bustling street markets, it seems to have this world-class food culture going on. It’s so good that now myself, the other judges, and contestants can finally get amongst it this season.”

However, not every episode of MasterChef Australia 2024 will be filmed in Hong Kong. Here’s everything we know about MasterChef Australia’s other filming locations.

MasterChef Australia’s 2024 Filming Locations

When the MasterChef Australia cast isn’t on the ground in Hong Kong, they’ll be back at Centenary Hall, a historic location at the Melbourne Showgrounds. This iconic hall was built in 1934 and is best known for being the home of the Royal Melbourne Show.

Since 2013, MasterChef Australia has filmed some of its best seasons at Centenary Hall. Over the last three years, Emelia Jackson, Justin Narayan, Billie McKay, and Brent Draper have all won their respective seasons here.

What’s more, some other beloved TV shows have been filmed at this location. These shows include Channel Nine’s Lego Masters and Thank God You’re Here.

MasterChef Australia 2024 will premiere at 7.30pm on Monday, April 22, only on 10 and 10 Play on Demand. Miss an episode? Catch up on 10 Play.
