Awake Academy is the brainchild of surfing legend Layne Beachley. It is an online self-empowerment platform offering a series of courses designed to help you boost your self-confidence, take control of your life and feel connected.
The platform brings together much of the work Beachley has been offering for years through face-to-face workshops and keynote presentations. This includes meditation, mindset coaching and mentoring.
“I’ve been delivering face-to-face workshops for many years, and often at the end of the day we’ll have participants say, but wait, we need more! Don’t leave us hanging!” Beachley said in a press release.
“So the idea behind Awake Academy was, in a way, to digitise me — my experiences, lessons, truths — and package it into an online platform that people can access in their own time. Awake Academy is inspired by my personal awakenings — it’s deeply personal and I certainly feel a sense of vulnerability putting it out there. But, I truly believe it can help people who are ready to radically change their lives.”
The first course up for grabs via Awake Academy is called “Own Your Truth”. Comprised of seven rounds (for the seven world titles Beachley has won), 29 workbook exercises (for the 29 events she won) and 19 videos (for the 19 years Beachley was on tour), the course is self-paced and aims to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
“This helps build resilience and creates a sense of certainty, something that is really lacking right now for many of us as we navigate the COVID-19 pandemic and all of the upheaval that goes along with it,” said Beachley.
“I like to think of each individual’s ‘truth’ as their internal GPS – it helps to guide us through the good times and the bad. Our first course, Own Your Truth, will help people unlock that internal GPS.”
