Kanye West is a ride-or-die Adidas fan, having launched his own line of Yeezys with the iconic shoe label, but even the fashion-forward rapper couldn’t resist trying on a pair of the Nike ISPA Air Max 720s when he visited Tokyo back in November 2019.
West was photographed in the kicks, and while he reportedly left the store without purchasing them, the images of him wearing them alone were enough to make them fly off the shelves.
Now, the Nike shoe that almost made Ye stray has launched in a fresh new colourway.
The new Air Max 720 ISPA (short for Improvise, Scavenge, Protect, Adapt) launched on March 13 in “Metallic Silver”. The familiar and coveted silhouette features tones of silver and taupe interspersed with moments of neon red stitching.
Black cut-out disks add depth to the design and provide ventilation where your feet need it most while the shoe’s sole is elevated by Nike’s signature air cushioning of high-pressure nitrogen for a supported feel that never lets up.
What’s more, each shoe is defined by a neon removable heel clip that can be used to carry your gear around and hang shoes to dry/air out.
While the silhouette is designed to support active use, the make is equally ideal for commuters and everyday wear.
The Nike Air Max 720 ISPA in Metallic Silver is available online now for $280.
