It’s official. One of Australia’s most enthralling reality TV shows — I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! — has had a massive shake-up, with Dr Chris Brown departing the show after a nine year run. Instead, Robert Irwin will join the reality competition as co-host alongside Julia Morris.
Fans of the series will know that Julia is a certified a I’m a Celebrity veteran who’s been co-hosting the series since 2015. Beyond I’m a Celebrity, Julia is best known for killing it on the skit show Full Frontal and narrating Dogs Behaving (Very) Badly.
In a press release, Julia noted that she’s very excited to be back in the driver’s seat and co-hosting this series alongside Robert.
“I am overjoyed by the appointment of my spectacular new co-host, Robert Irwin. Audiences will be peaking at how much fun we have in store,” Julia said. “You might think Robert and I are an unlikely duo, but it turns out we’re a magical combination! Season 10, here we come!”
To honour Julia’s return, let’s dive into what has made her career so special. Here is everything you need to know about I’m a Celebrity’s Julia Morris.
How Did Julia Morris Get Famous?
To no one’s surprise, Julia Morris didn’t start her career as the co-host on I’m a Celebrity. In fact, Julia spent years grinding the nineties stand-up comedy scene before blowing up.
It was only after her Full Frontal debut in 1995 that Julia became a household name. One of the most popular skits that she starred in was a giggle-worthy musical called Beauty and the Bloke.
After starring on Full Frontal, Julia was able to swing from stride to stride. From 2008 until 2012, she was a panellist on the satirical series Good News Week. And in 2020, Julia was a fluffy pink kitten on the Masked Singer.
How Old Is Julia Morris?
Julia Morris was born on April 20, 1968, making her 55-years-old. However, Julia has made it very clear that she doesn’t care about ageing.
In a 2017 interview, Julia stated that turning 50 didn’t really impact her self-worth or value. She also joked that she grappled with such issues in her forties.
“It’s a cliché that the midlife crisis happens at 50,” Julia explained. “Your 40s are the real confrontation time. That’s when you get the first signs of ageing and learn you’re on the reverse side of looking good. By 50, you’ve learnt to accept that’s going to happen. So it’s a tremendous rebirth. I don’t give a f**k about turning 50.”
How Much Does Julia Morris Earn on I’m a Celebrity?
According to reports, Julia Morris earns around $700,000 for co-hosting on I’m a Celebrity. Which, if true, is a nice amount of money!
I’m a Celebrity’s start date is Sunday, March 24. It will be airing on Network 10 and stream live on 10 Play on Demand. Miss this episode? Catch up on 10 Play.
