Louis Vuitton is one of the world’s best-known clothes and accessories brands, and soon, it could be a well-known name in the hotel space too. The French luxury brand is set to open its first hotel in Paris in 2026.
The hotel was first reported by Women’s Wear Daily in 2022 when Michael Burke, LV’s chairman and chief executive officer, shared plans to transform the business’s corporate offices, located in the city’s 8th arrondissement, into a complex that would include the world’s first Louis Vuitton hotel and its largest store ever.
“It is the most spectacular view in the world,” he said of his current office and the proposed hotel’s outlook. The Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe can be seen from its windows. Built in 1896, LV’s corporate office is an Art Nouveau building that once housed the Elysse Palace hotel and was the headquarters for HSBC bank.
Also in Burke’s interview with WWD, he touched on the growing push by fashion and luxury brands into hospitality, as consumers increase spend on experiences. “That’s what our clients want from us,” he said. “They want a 24/7 relationship.”
A Historic New Chapter. #LouisVuitton is pleased to unveil its new location on the iconic Champs-Elysées in Paris. In September 2023, Louis Vuitton shared on X/Twitter that it was disguising the building on the Champs-Elysees as an LV monogrammed travel case while it underwent refurbishment.
Though this will be the brand’s first significant foray into hospitality, in December 2022, it opened a multi-storey pop-up called LV Dream. The temporary space was a blend of a concept store, café and gallery. Pastry chef Maxime Frederic served elegant café and chocolate treats, while works from artists and designers like Daniel Buren, Nigo, Grace Coddington and Christopher Nemeth were displayed.
When the hotel opens, it’ll join a slew of existing luxury fashion and beauty brands with hotels. Though Versace-dedicated hotel Palazzo Versace in the Gold Coast closed down, guests can still check into the likes of Bulgari Hotel in London, Bali, Paris and Milan, Hotel Missoni in Kuwait, and the Armani Hotel in Dubai and Milan.
