IKEA is launching a new range of affordable and high-performing gaming products, and we feel seen. Including desks, chairs, a neck pillow, ring light and more, the range looks to target 2.5 billion gamers around the world right now.
Gamers are a diverse group that are united by their love of e-sports, and are often overlooked from a life-at-home perspective. But not by IKEA.
IKEA’s first gaming range has been developed in collaboration with Republic of Gamers (ROG), an ASUS sub-brand that is a leader in the gaming industry.
The collab was announced in September, but IKEA has only just shown us our first glimpse at the range. Targeting PC gamers, there will be more than 30 products, covering both furniture and accessories.
The six product families are called The six product families are HUVUDSPELARE, UTESPELARE, MATCHSPEL, GRUPPSPEL, UPPSPEL and LÅNESPELARE.
The goal for the collaboration is simple; to find new ways that gaming can blend into the home seamlessly. The range aims to democratise the gaming experience by creating beautiful, functional and affordable products that you won’t feel the need to hide away in just one room, they can become statement pieces around the house.
Having already launched at IKEA China, the range will be available from May 2021 at IKEA Japan, and globally from October 2021.
