This Fenty Beauty Lipstick Is My Current Go-to Lip Product

Fenty Beauty

In my early twenties, I was all about the bold lip. Fuchsia, red, coral orange — you name it, I wore it.

In recent years, my approach to lipstick has changed. While I’ll still whip out a red lip every now and then, I’m not as adventurous as I once was. These days, lip balm is my best friend and I usually have five different ones on the go.

When I was given the chance to test out the new Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick by Fenty Beauty, I was intrigued. The range of lipsticks comes in 10 sheer-but-buildable shades and the finish is shiny and glossy, even.

I tried on a bunch of the colours one after the other and noticed immediately how comfortable the product felt on the lips. As someone who favours matte lipstick, the nourishing element of the Fenty Beauty products is super nice.

Then, I came across a shade called “Quartz Candy” — a clear, shimmery lipstick that smells faintly of vanilla. I can’t remember the last time I wore a clear, almost glittery and glossy lip product (probably in high school?) but I’m addicted.

While the lippy looks super shimmery and iridescent in the bullet, it’s subtle on the lips and just looks shiny and hydrating. The product has a creamy texture and locks in moisture, thanks to the addition of conditioning pomegranate butter.

Since stumbling across “Quartz Candy”, it has become my favourite lip product and it’s either sitting next to me on my desk (dining room table) or in my handbag when I’m out and about (going grocery shopping). I haven’t felt this committed to a lipstick in some time and I’ve even worn a couple of the other colours quite a bit too, with the latte coloured Makeout Breakout another favourite.

I’ve been using the product religiously for a few weeks now and there’s still a generous amount left in the lipstick bullet too. For $35, it’s a pretty damn good buy.

You can shop Fenty Beauty’s Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick via the Fenty Beauty website and online and in-store at Sephora Australia.
