In today’s edition of strange dream jobs you wish were yours, a US site is offering couples US $3,000 (AU $4,147) to have sex on a bunch of different mattresses.
The job listing comes courtesy of Sleep Standards, a platform for research-based sleep advice, slumber tips, and sleep product reviews. The role for two was established to help the platform find the “best mattress for intimacy”, and is hoping to find five couples willing to boink it out on eight different mattresses over a period of eight weeks, all the while offering honest feedback.
“We’ll send you a new mattress every week and all you have to do is give us your honest reviews on how good that mattress is for sex,” the job listing reads. “That’s right, you can get paid for doing what you do in your regular everyday life – Sex!”
The mattresses will be sent to the winner’s homes, with the old ones being swapped out each week. Not just any old mattresses, the eight that will be undergoing rigorous testing will already be determined as the top mattresses for sex on the current market.
Over eight weeks, couples will be required to write extremely NSFW reviews on each mattress, while rating them on a scale of 1-10 according to these criteria: bounciness, noise, firmness, edge support, comfort, cooling, and an overall score.
The reward, aside from eight weeks of a good time, is a $3,000 payout for your time, plus you get to keep whichever mattress you deem to be the best platform for your sexy sessions.
To apply, you’ll need to submit a 60-second video introducing yourself and your “passion for the position”. You’ll also need to answer couple-related questions about how you met, plus link all your social media accounts and cite how many followers you have. Somewhat disappointingly, the job is open to applicants from the US only.
