If you’ve been keen to give brow lamination a go for yourself, but can’t quite seem to find the time to book an appointment at a salon to administer the treatment, you might want to consider going down the DIY route at home.
If you’re new to the concept of brow lamination, it involves chemically straightening the brow hairs in order to achieve a fuller and more voluminous looking brow. When performed in a salon, your brows are brushed into place and a keratin formula is applied and set with cling wrap.
After a few minutes, a neutralising cream is applied to set the style. To finish, your brows might be tinted and shaped — depending on the finish you’re after. But, it is possible to achieve this look at home with a lamination kit.
Brows by Ryan has created an At-Home Brow Lamination Kit that perms the brows straight to keep them in the desired shape for up to eight weeks. Each kit will give you at least three treatments, which means you can have lovely laminated eyebrows for at least six months just from the one kit.
To achieve fluffy and full brows, you simply need to apply the perm solution, which breaks down the proteins in the hair before the setting solution locks your brows in the desired shape, position and hair direction.
A nourishing serum is then applied at the end to reseal the hair follicles and add shine to your feathery brows. Once finished, the maintenance on the laminated brows is pretty minimal. You just need to avoid using makeup or tanning lotion on the area and avoid getting your brows wet for 48 hours after application.
This low-fuss treatment also just needs be applied on clean and dry brows but if you’ve just had your eyebrows microbladed recently, Brows by Ryan recommends wasting six to eight weeks as the solution could fade the tattoo if applied too early.
You can shop the Brow Lamination Kit for $69.95 via the Brows by Ryan website.
