The iPhone 14 is Apple’s best smartphone yet. It’s also the cheapest current-gen iPhone you can get — it’s $180 cheaper than the iPhone 14 Plus, $350 cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro and an entire $500 cheaper than the iPhone 14 Pro Max. You don’t even miss out on a lot of their high-end features by sticking with the more budget-friendly option, either.
iPhone 14 Specs
The iPhone 14 shares many of the same features as the more expensive models, including the same A15 Bionic chip as the Plus. It also has 5G connectivity and a ceramic shield front cover.
The iPhone 14 has a smaller display than the Plus and Pro Max at just 6.1-inches, but it uses the same Super Retina XDR display with OLED panels. That gives it the bright whites, true blacks and vibrant colours Apple screens are known for.
It’s also got awesome 12MP front-facing and ultra-wide cameras, 4K video recording at 60 fps and Action mode for stable videos.
Those camera specs aren’t quite as good as those on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max — which have a crazy 48MP front-facing camera plus a 12MP ultra-wide and two 12MP telephoto lenses. But it’s still a marked improvement over the iPhone 13 camera and nothing to scoff at.
The other major difference between the models is the battery life. The Pro and Pro Max have a longer battery life than the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus — but again, the iPhone 14 battery life is longer than the last-gen, so it’s still a good upgrade.
And for the style aficionados out there, the new iPhone 14 yellow is now available in Australia alongside the original blue, purple, red, midnight black and starlight white models.
