Cast iron cookware is notoriously expensive. Le Creuset, anyone?
Aldi has again exceeded our expectations by adding a cast iron cookware collection to its latest Special Buys, on sale from Wednesday, October 13, 2021. Cast iron is extremely durable and should last for years to come.
Another benefit of cooking with cast iron is that it doesn’t chip as Teflon pans can, so there’s no danger of ingesting any particles when cooking. Many cooks also prefer cast iron as it holds and distributes heat really well and is naturally non-stick. Are you sold yet?
Each of these cast iron cookware items is being sold in four cute colours: red, white, black and navy.
The 26cm Cast Iron Frying Pan from Aldi is oven safe, can be used on all stovetops (including gas, electric, induction and glass ceramic) and is dishwasher safe. This pan costs $17.99, compared to a similar Le Creuset style which would set you back $319.
If you’re into griddling veggies and meat, this Cast Iron Griddle Pan is the one. And, like the one above, can be used on all stovetops and only costs $17.99.
The Cast Iron French Pan has a fairly shallow base, but thanks to the addition of the lid, could be good for braising or roasting meat and cooking up all sorts of veggie and rice dishes. The French Pan is the most expensive item in the range, coming in at $26.99.
The Cast Iron Dutch Oven would be perfect for all those winter stews, soups and casseroles you’re intending to cook. It’ll cost you $24.99.
Again, the range of cookware hits Aldi stores Wednesday, October 13, and seeing as Aldi’s Special Buys have a habit of selling out pretty quickly, you’ll have to be quick.
