Aldi is no stranger to a bargain find, but one Sydney TikToker has found the ultimate sweet treat in stores and it’s going viral on TikTok.
Adrian Widjy, who has amassed over 131,000 followers, posted a video of his $3 Aldi find, which is a brownie batter dip. The video has over 121,000 views and prompted many Aldi fans to flock to the store to get their hands on one.
@adrianwidjy I love this so much! Brownie Batter Dip! Perfect to end your xmas dinner! #placesinsydney #aldi #aldifinds #dips #brownie #dessert ♬ original sound – Places in Sydney Foodie
In stores for a limited time, the Deli Originals brownie batter-flavoured dip is gluten-free, dairy-free, and suitable for vegetarians. Widjy can be seen dipping strawberries and pretzels into the batter.
Although some have taken to the dip on the social platform, others, including Aldi Mums Facebook page have conflicting views on the batter. Some have said that it’s cheap chocolate and doesn’t taste good while others praise the cheap treat, saying it’s good enough for the price.
There’s even a thread dedicated to a copycat recipe, which includes chickpeas, cocoa powder, plant-based milk, a natural sweetener such as honey, and vanilla extract. The exact ingredients in the Aldi product are unknown, but this recipe seems to be a close match.
The consensus is, people either love it or hate it. Widjy obviously thinks it’s a well-worth-it sweet treat. Have you tried it?
