It’s official: Big Brother VIP has come to an end, with one housemate being crowned the winner in tonight’s Grand Final.
It was only a few weeks ago when 12 celebrities entered the very first Big Brother Hotel, and in tonight’s season finale, only three remained. Ellie Gonsalves, Josh Carroll and Former Australian Survivor favourite Luke Toki made it to the very end and were in the running to win $100,000 for their chosen charity.
But it was up to Australia to choose the winner, and the country rallied behind Luke Toki, bringing the unforgettable season to an end.
The Perth father-of-three was relieved to have broken his fourth-place curse, saying after being named the winner: “I’m so happy. I cannot believe it!”
Host Sonia Kruger went on to ask what winning meant to him, with Luke answering, “Well, it means I get to go home to Lennox and tell him that Dad won!”
The reality TV star chose to support the Perth Children’s Hospital, specifically the cystic fibrosis unit, which treated his daughter and supported his family through the tough time.
“It’s so great that I get to go back to Perth Children’s Hospital now, pretty much go back with a big stack of cash, $110,000!”
Luke won an extra $10,000 for his charity during the last challenge for the series.
Luke went on to thank his supporters, saying: “This one is for you. I’ve finally done it. I’ve won something. Thank you to everyone that has supported me…I will remember this moment forever… love you guys!”
This year, Big Brother VIP had a number of well-known personalities including Caitlyn Jenner and Thomas Markle Jr.
